Have you tried turning on your computer and discovered that it is not booting up? If so, there are a few things that you can do to troubleshoot the problem to figure out what is going on.

Reconnect All Components

The very first thing that you should do is make sure that all your components are connected. It is possible that you had things that were not fully seated into the motherboard and they have become loose over time. Simply opening up your computer and making sure that every single component has a firm connection can help eliminate this as a possibility. 

Test The Cables

There is a possibility that the cables within your computer have gone bad. The only way to really test them is to start replacing the cables. The first cable you should test is your power supply since that could be a reason why the computer is not even working. Once you've eliminated the power supply as a possibility, you can try swapping out the cables that connect the hard drive, CPU, and graphics card. 

Test The RAM

If everything is plugged in properly, you can start testing individual components of your computer. It's best to start with the ones that can be easily tested, like the RAM. It is possible that you have a bad stick of RAM in the computer that is causing the issue, so you will want to put in the bare minimum amount of RAM by only using one stick. If you rotate the RAM into the computer one at a time and the machine boots up, you know that you have a bad stick of RAM in there. You can then discover the bad RAM by using the process of elimination and testing all of them.

Test The Hard Drive

You may have a boot drive that is completely dead, so the computer is not able to load the operating system. You can actually remove the hard drive and plug it into a different computer to see if it can read the data on it. If your computer's boot drive is not mounting to a different computer, that's a huge indication that the boot drive is completely dead. You'll need to get a new hard drive to install a fresh copy of the OS to start over again.
